Diana Doernberg began Velva Cattery in 1966. Over the years, it has produced many of CFA’s top winners, with Velva’ cats earning numerous National and Regional awards. Velva Russian Blues are registered exclusively with Cat Fancier’s Association.
Velva kittens are prized for their lineage and cherished for their warm and friendly demeanor.
Diana has been a CFA-licensed International Allbreed Cat Judge for over 40 years. She served the Cat Fanciers Association for six years as Vice President, as an elected member of its Board of Directors for six years, and for many of those years as Chairperson of CFA’s Breeds and Standards Committee.
Velva Russian Blue kittens are available regularly. All of our kittens are “home-raised,” and nearly all are sold as pets because we like them to receive the love and attention a family environment offers. Velva pet kittens are sold with the understanding that they will be indoor cats, neutered or spayed, and will not be used for breeding.
Velva kittens sell for US$2,500.00. This includes shots, health certificate, pet carrier, pedigree, and a CFA registration slip.
You may join the waiting list to reserve your Velva kitten via email. Once the litter is born, we contact the list and ask those who still desire a kitten to send a $50 refundable deposit. We start placing our kittens in their new homes when they reach twelve weeks of age.
Older cats are periodically available, most at reduced prices, to ensure they receive loving pet homes. Please email if you are interested in an older cat.
Most people drive in to pick up their kitten. If that is not an option, you must make other arrangements.
